The DCU Journalism Society was established in 2009.

The aims of the society are:

• To provide for the publication of an independent newspaper, a once a semester independent review magazine and any other publications. The editorial teams of these publications will not be decided upon by the Journalism Society committee.
• To provide for accompanying independent websites to any college publications.
• To offer an opportunity to engage in journalism workshops, lectures, and practical events.
• To organise trips and events of educational and social interest to the Journalism Society.

The Society is the publisher of The College View and FlashBack, however both publications retain editorial independence.
